My
Artist
Statement:
I am an acrylic figurative painter. I draw inspiration from the rich tapestry of Puerto Rican and African culture. Infusing my work with a hint of esoteric wisdom, I create vibrant narratives that incorporate Egyptian iconography seen in my works "Closed Eyes Don't Get Fed" and "Indigo". Influenced by the high contrast style of Shepard Fairey, I aim to create striking compositions that command attention while incorporating the impressionistic techniques of Claude Monet to evoke emotion and depth. Through this fusion of styles, I hope to evoke a sense of stillness and reflection on the beauty and complexity of our shared human experience in a world of algorithms and automation. My paintings serve as a bridge between cultures, inviting viewers to engage with the stories and ideas that are seldom taught and usually forgotten.
